Một hòn/núi đá cao 650 feet mọc lên từ mặt dất bằng phẵng ỡ Guatape, Colombia.,,có tên là Piedra de Penol hoặc El Pe de Guatape

 

Núi dá nầy đã từng dược thờ phượng bỡi người da đỏ Tahamies.

Vào những năm 1900, khối đá nặng 10 triệu tấn nầy đã bị các nông dân địa phương xem như là một sự phiền toái.

Năm 1954, một nhóm người -- do sự thúc đẩy của một giáo sĩ địa phương -- dã leo lên khối đá bằng cách xử dụng một số bảng gỗ chèn vào giữa vết nứt.

Đây là những người đầu tiên dã lên dược dĩnh núi dá có tên El Pe de Guatape.

(Không biết trước dây, người da đõ Tahamies có biết cách nào dễ leo lên  núi dá nầy không?)

- Dễ có thễ leo lên chóp núi dá, họ fãi leo mất 5 ngày.

Nhưng khi lên dược trên dĩnh, người ta quan sát những cãnh đẹp chung quanh và dồng thời, khám fá ra dược một loại thão mộc mới: Pitcairma heterophila.

Núi dá nhanh chóng trở thành một dịa điểm thu hút khách du lịch khiêm tốn.

 

Núi dá nầy gần như hoàn toàn nhẵn thín. Nó có một vết nứt dài, và nhờ dó các nhà leo núi dã xử dụng dễ  leo lên.

Trong rãnh nẽ nầy, người ta dã xây 649 bực thang. Dó là lối duy nhất để có thễ leo lên nóc núi dá Piedra Penol.

Trong những năm 1970, khu vực này đã được xây đập, và từ đó, nhìn từ đĩnh núi đá, cãnh trí dược thay đổi: bây giờ cho thấy một số hồ nước cũng như dão ..

Bạn có thể leo lên núi đá nầy (hình như lá nó thuộc quyền sỡ hữu cũa một tư nhân nào dó, tuy vậy núi dá vẫn dược Cô-lôm-bi-a xem như là một "di tích quốc gia").

Tại dây, bạn sẽ tìm thấy một vài di vật tôn giáo và một tháp cao ba tầng dễ quan sát.

El Pe on de Guatape - Colombia     A massive stone rising over 650 feet out of the flat ground of Guatape, Colombia, the Piedra de Penol or El Pe on de Guatape was once worshiped by the Tahamies Indians. By the 1900s, the massive 10-million-ton rock was seen by local farmers as a nuisance, a giant version of the rocks that the farmers regularly dug out of their fields.     In 1954 a group of friends supposedly at the urging of a local priest climbed the rock using a series of boards wedged into a crack. These were the first people known to have climbed El Pe on de Guatape. (It is unknown whether the Tahamies had a way of ascending the stone.) Climbing the huge stone took five days, but the top of the rock revealed both beautiful views and a new species of plant, Pitcairma heterophila. The rock soon became a modest tourist attraction.     The rock, which is almost entirely smooth, has one long crack, the one that the climbers used in ascending it. In the crack was later wedged a 649-step masonry staircase, the only way to get to the top of the Piedra de Penol. In the 1970s, the area was dammed, and the view from the rock changed: It now overlooks a dramatic series of lakes and islands.     Today, you can ascend the rock (apparently owned by a local family, though also designated by Colombia as a "national monument") for 2 US dollars. There you'll find a few religious relics and a three-story lookout tower.
